Voter Apathy

Welcome to Unhappy 2008, i use the word 'unhappy' because there is nothing to celebrate given the outcome of the hotly contested Presidential Election and its aftermath. The lesson drawn as a result of conduct or ommission of the Electoral Commission is NEVER vote because your vote will be replaced either by massive rigging/irregularities. On this point the Electoral Commission of Kenya has vindicated my long heard view. That voting is a just a waste of time and resources especially in this shores. There is nothing like the power of the vote. To some voters it means inflicting harm and spreading fear. To cap it all, it negates the very purpose of democracy as is defined.
