Pity & Sympathy Industry(Charity)

The current stand off between the President Mwai Kibaki and the leader of Official Opposition Raila Odinga following the dispute over the election outcome has in its self brought about no only violence and economic chaos as well as forced internal migration from certain areas in the country. The latter has brought into the public domain internally displaced camps giving the humanitarian effort a boost in so far as raising funds/resources as well 'pity'. I use the word 'pity' because the audiences/donors who responds to the appeals give freely and voluntarily and any thing goes. There is scant regards on the recipients need. Thereby reducing the victims to a laughing stock and people to be taken advantage off through deceit/manipulation. The genesis of this will be considered in the next blog post.
