Double Standards

The media in my country are displaying double standards to other institution especially the Police Force in so far as criticising them as a result errors in line of duty while them are unable to practice what they preach. Take the East African Standard (26/12/07) (20/01/08) way it is reporting and its editorial is quite irresponsible considering the mistrust of the citizens against one another as a result of the disputed Presidential Election. This only goes to supports the Government determination to control the media given self regulation cannot work as present scenario clearly shows. Yes, the Police Force have a duty to contain violence within the law but the media are not playing its right role of prevention. Thereby, inflaming passions and emotions which the enforcement is required to contain.
